Realistic Botanicals: Bottle Brush Flower

Class Description:

Students will learn how to paint a realistic bottle brush flower. The Callistemon plant is also known as a bottlebrush plant because of the shape and structure of its unique flowers.

What You Will Learn:

  • How to use a reference to paint an object
  • How to paint a bottle brush flower, from reference image, to stem and leaves, to flowers, to finished painting.

Supplies You'll Need:

  • Round brush
  • Thin round brush
  • Watercolor paints
  • 100% cotton watercolor paper
  • 2 jars of water
  • Cotton rag (or paper towels)

Intricate but Worth the Effort

I love painting flowers and botanicals and the bottle brush was a lot of fun. Very delicate and intricate but worth the time to learn it and master it. So colorful.
